It is eating its own shit! If you look closely you can see its toung licking it up like ice cream! It would be more nasty if the pic was taken closer and if the poo was more sloppy. However, it is a firm poo as it retains shape while being licked.

"Its Disgusting"
I have recently came across a site that has a few fantastic pictures of an ape eating its own poo. Of the ten pictures I decided to post my favorite:
